Tight Ship:

Eric Graf is a really nice guy who writes, records and performs under the name Boxstep. Originally from Pittsburg, later Chicago and now generally nomadic, Tight Ship was lucky enough to capture these songs while Eric was hanging out in Chicago. Eric is joined by local guys Ryan Hembrey (Manishevitz, Pinetop Seven), Jason Toth (The Zincs, Edith Frost) and Joel Paterson (Kelly Hogan, Andrew Bird), plus two guys he brought back with him from his last tour. This session was recorded in one afternoon with everyone huddled around Eric in the same room, with only a few background vocal overdubs added after the fact. To quote Eric: "This is a record made the old fashioned way...some friends got together for one rehearsal, then made a record on the fly. The result is a disc more immediate, more raw and more beautifully earthly than any of Boxstep's previous recordings."
